Gah! I wanna go home!
Ever have one of those days when you have a creative idea about something but do not have any motivation to write at all? I have the writer's version of ISS (Irritable sperm syndrome).
I'm in a play mood and by that I mean reading up on some plays. Weird story. I was on amazon looking at some book reviews (earlier this morning it was Jessica Valenti's Full Frontal Feminism. If you don't know who Ms. Valenti is, she is a blogger for her website feministing which can be found here and here. Naturally, being the serial cynic and contrarian, I would rather watch her critics break down her ideology. In my humble opinion there should not be a third wave feminism and it should have died out in the '80s. I see no reason to cry out 'misogyny' when women can be judges, senators, business owners, CEOs (yes, only 5 but still, it's a dirty job which most people with a uterus don't want to do) scientists, managers, lawyers etc. From then, I went to look up Pamela De Barres I'm with the Band because she made a quote about being a 'pioneer feminist'. Whatever. From there I went on to look at Cyrinda Foxe Tyler's Dream On
I would rent these books if I found them in the library system. No monies from me!
One of the reviews mentioned how Cyrinda has this Tennessee Williams' southern belle touch. I thought, hmm, that name sounds familiar, so I look up to see if we have A Streetcar Named Desire and sure enough, it's in our selected monologues and plays section!
